Revit® to DAE (Collada) converter: geometry linked to Excel rows by element ID, without Revit

The Revit converter writes a DAE next to the XLSX. Each element in the DAE carries its Revit element ID, so geometry and parameters join on one key.

Geometry in DAE, data in XLSX, joined on the element ID

Load the DAE in Blender, a game engine or three.js and look up any element in the spreadsheet by its ID.

Convert from the window, PowerShell or Python

Same converter, same output. Start with the window, then put the command in a batch file, a script or an n8n workflow.

In the window

  1. Install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2022 (x64) if it is missing.
  2. Unzip the download.
  3. Choose RVT files in the GUI.
  4. Press Convert; the DAE is written next to the XLSX.

Limits, stated plainly

  • Revit files older than 2015 are not supported.
  • Materials and textures follow what the converter exports; check the result in your target engine.

How do I link geometry and data?

Each element in the DAE carries the same element ID as its row in the XLSX export.

Do I need Revit installed?

No. Geometry is read from the RVT file directly.

Which Revit versions can it read?

RVT and RFA files saved with Revit 2015 to 2026.

Is this an online converter?

No. It is a download that runs on your Windows or Linux computer, or on your own server. Files are never uploaded, so confidential projects stay on your machine.

Is it free for commercial work?

The Community version is free for personal and research use. Commercial use, processing files for third parties, SaaS or redistribution needs a commercial licence. Request a quote on the licence page.
