Two free converters cover IFC in both directions that matter for data: RVT models become IFC without Revit, and IFC models become an Excel table with every entity and property set. Both run offline on Windows or Linux.

RVT to IFC without Revit
RVT2IFCconverter.exe reads RVT projects and RFA families saved with Revit 2015 to 2026 and writes IFC with presets for base quantities and property sets. In our smoke test on 10 sample files, all produced valid IFC4 (3.8 to 50 MB, 22k to 415k entities).
Revit to IFC converterIFC to Excel and DAE
IfcExporter.exe writes one row per IFC entity and one column per attribute or property, with the property set in the header. The Snowdon Towers sample gives 7,311 rows and 151 columns. GlobalId extraction matched ifcopenshell 0.8.4 at 99.95% on average over 9 files.

Which IFC versions are supported?
IFC 2x3, IFC4 and IFC4.3 files are read by the IFC to Excel converter. The Revit to IFC converter writes IFC2x3, IFC4 or IFC4.3. IFC4X3_RC2 files are not supported.
Is this an online IFC converter?
No. It is a free download for Windows 10/11 and Linux. Files are converted on your computer and never uploaded.
Can I convert RVT to IFC without Revit?
Yes. RVT2IFCconverter.exe reads Revit 2015 to 2026 files without Revit or an Autodesk licence. All 10 files in our smoke test produced valid IFC4, in 220 s per file on average.
Can I convert DWG to IFC?
No. DWG files become Excel tables and PDF drawings, not 3D models. There is no IFC output from DWG.
Can I convert IFC to RVT?
No. We do not write RVT. Revit links or opens IFC files itself.
Can I convert IFC to DWG?
No. From an IFC you get an Excel table with every entity and property set, and the geometry as DAE (Collada).
