Community is free for non-commercial use only. Commercial use needs the licence.
In each case without payment, revenue or business purpose. If in doubt, write to us before you use the software.
The ddc-tools helper, workflows, notebooks and documentation in the GitHub repository are under the MIT licence, commercial use allowed. The MIT licence does not extend to the DDC converters they call. Full terms: the EULA.
Nothing in the conversion: both have the same converters and features. Community is free for non-commercial use and may open an ad page after a conversion. The licence removes the ad page and allows commercial use.
You pay once and can use the version you received without a time limit. The licence includes 12 months of updates from the purchase date: every new release in that period is yours to keep.
Before the update period ends we send you an offer to renew updates for another year, quoted individually. Renewing is optional. If you do not renew, you keep using the last version released within your update period, forever. Nothing is switched off.
No. Nothing renews automatically and there is nothing to cancel. A renewal is a separate order: you receive an invoice and pay only if you want another year of updates.
Yes. Bug and security fixes for the version you own stay free.
Yes. A renewal starts on the day you re-join, with no back-payment for the years you skipped.
Community is for non-commercial use only: personal learning, research and teaching. Because it cannot be used for paid work, it has no update period and always comes as the newest release. Commercial use needs the licence.
The price is quoted per order. Use the form at the bottom of this page and name the converters, the number of workstations and how you use them. We reply by e-mail with a quote.
Any use by or for a business, self-employed professional, public authority or other organisation (including its employees), in paid work or services such as processing files for clients, in a project that generates or is meant to generate revenue, or inside a product, service or pipeline offered to others. Personal learning, research, teaching and non-profit evaluation are non-commercial.
No. Study, teaching and academic research are non-commercial use, so Community is free for them.
Yes. The invoice arrives by e-mail, and companies pay by bank transfer.
Yes. Write to us and we move it to the new machine. The licence covers the number of workstations in your order.
No. Conversion runs on your computer without a connection.
Not under the licence alone. Redistribution, bundling with your own product or a hosted conversion service needs a separate written agreement (EULA section 3.5).
Yes. The ddc-tools command-line helper and the repository documentation, n8n workflows and notebooks are under the MIT licence, commercial use allowed. The MIT licence does not extend to the DDC converters they call.
Consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal. For digital content it ends when delivery starts with your express consent, which you give when you accept the quote. The withdrawal notice has the details and the form.
Terms of any third-party components are listed in the EULA shipped with each converter. Export classification: EAR99, EU 2021/821.
